Year 2 – Here. We. Go.

Dear Friends of Husky Ticket Project,

Jim Calhoun is on record, when asked about why he took the UConn Men’s Basketball job and if he could build a national powerhouse, he famously replied, “Why not Connecticut”. We still feel the same way today.

We knew the apparent apathy surrounding athletics, and written about on various outlets, did not represent the true feelings of the fan base. You showed us that and them some – helping us smash our fundraising goals in Year One by raising over $7,000. That helped send 600 young children and deserving volunteers, from a dozen CT-based youth organizations, to a UConn Football and Basketball game this past fall/winter.

During that time, we officially incorporated as a not-for-profit organization and are on track to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization by year-end. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year to send even more deserving CT youth organizations to a game; and your donation this year is going to go even further.

One member of UConn Nation, who saw the unbelievable response to our campaign last year, has generously offered to match every dollar donated, up to $5,000. That means every $50 donation will allow us to put one potential new fan, or deserving volunteer in a seat for each game this season.

As we continue marching on this journey that became Husky Ticket Project, the words of Jim Calhoun seem to resonate with me more and more, “Why not Connecticut.” Why can’t we become a basketball powerhouse? Why can’t we fill the Rent? Why can’t we be a great athletic program? And why can’t we do some good along the way?

We can. Donate today.
