Game 4 – Homecoming: UMass vs. UConn

To Our Donors,

Game 4 on the 2018 schedule is everyone’s favorite game of the year…Homecoming! Husky Ticket Project stepped its game up for this special occasion, using our clout at the Ticket Office to obtain an additional 50 tickets, at no charge, for the game; meaning 110 young children and volunteers were set to take in the game.

Sadly though, the weather had other ideas and dumped a Nor’easter over Connecticut, washing out what should have been a fun filled day. Despite the weather, one of our die hard founders, Kevin Solomon (pictured left), was on hand with a smattering of those from ConnectiKids to catch the game.

ConnectiKids Inc. is a nonprofit positive youth development agency that focuses on educating, enriching, and empowering Hartford’s youth.

“We couldn’t stay the whole game, but the students had a great time! We made hot chocolate to defrost before heading home.” said Kiera Steele, Program Director of ConnectiKids.

Glad they were able to thaw out before a return trip next year.

Although unable to attend, tickets were also provided for Youth Services Bureau of Middletown. YSB of Middletown serves as an advocate for youth and is dictated by state statute “as the coordinating unit of community-based services to provide comprehensive delivery of prevention, intervention, treatment and follow-up services” for children and youth.
