Due to our generous donors, 50 deserving young children and volunteers from Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and Klingberg Family Centers were on hand Thursday night to take in the Huskies’ season opener.
Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters is the CT chapter of the nationally recognized organization, which provides children in need with outstanding mentors who help them reach their highest potential.
Klingberg Family Centers is a private, nonprofit multi-service agency providing help to thousands of persons across Connecticut each year. They provide hope and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, severe family problems and mental health issues.
Being the first organizations to benefit from the Husky Ticket Project, we were moved speechless by the pictures and tweets we received from the game. It was a powerful reminder to us that sports is, and always has been, about more than X’s and O’s or Wins and Losses. It provides us all the ability to connect as humans, and we are proud to provide that experience to the great young kids and volunteers of NBBBS and Klingberg.
For those that would like to get involved or simply make a donation to either of these great organizations, their information can be found at the following:
