The UConn football season may be mercifully over, but there is no off-season for the Husky Ticket Project team when it comes to finding worthy CT-area youth organizations to enjoy a UConn Huskies athletic event.
Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to provide 40 tickets to the children and volunteers of the Governor’s Prevention Partnership to see our #3 women’s basketball team host UCF on January 21st. You may remember them as the recipients of our Game 2 football tickets for our shootout win against Rhode Island. GPP must be our lucky charm because our Huskies seem to bring their best offense when they are in the stands. The Huskies routed UCF 93-57 in a game that wasn’t even that close.
The Governor’s Prevention Partnership connects organizations, communities and families to prevent substance abuse, underage drinking and violence among youth and promotes positive outcomes for all young people in Connecticut.
“The youth and families had an awesome time. I was unable to attend, but my phone didn’t stop chiming from the excitement.” said Monique Price-Taylor from Governor’s Prevention Partnership. She sent over pictures of those that attended the games and it’s these photos that serve as a constant reminder of what we do what we do.
